Hello beautiful friends,
Today I wanted to reflect on the power of letting go.
The power of letting go is something that we all need to embrace in order to live our most authentic and best unfiltered lives. We all have or have had experiences, people, and things that we hold onto even though they no longer serve us. It is important to recognize that holding onto these things only holds us back from moving forward and reaching our full potential. We cannot fully operate as our higher-self, while letting our lower-self make choices and decisions that are often rooted in shame and fear. We are not doing that anymore. Time to grow “LIGS” (Let It Go Sis).
It is not lost on me that letting go is not an easy process, it requires us to confront our fears, our doubts, and our insecurities. But we must be willing to face the discomfort and pain that comes with releasing the things that we have held onto, that will only cause more pain and discomfort if not let go. The rewards of letting go far outweigh the challenges.
Letting go allows us to free up space in our lives for new opportunities, new relationships, and new experiences. It can be a great opportunity to shed the old and embrace the new. God can and will make all things new in our lives, when we do our part of letting go of the old things and habits.
Mental health checkpoint: Letting go can also help to reduce stress and anxiety, boost confidence, improve self-esteem, and increase feelings of happiness and fulfillment.
Letting go is essential for our mental, spiritual, and physical health. It does not mean forgetting or disregarding the past. But rather, acknowledging the past and learning from it, growing from it, and then making the decision to move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
On the journey of letting go, it is important to be kind to ourselves, and not beat ourselves up for the mistakes or shortcomings of the past. We must let go of the idea of the life we thought we’d have, take control of the life we have, and steer our lives in the direction of the life we want, by way of the choices and decisions we make. We must forgive ourselves as well as those who have hurt us, and accept that we cannot change the past, but we can certainly shape our future. Remember, God is not the author of confusion, therefore we cannot choose to hold onto confusion, while at the same time claiming to want the peace of God. I know from personal experience, when you let go, you gain so much more than you lose. You gain a sense of self… and in order to live your most authentic and best unfiltered life, you must first define who you are.
I love y’all for reading, for being here, for being present, and for taking this unfiltered journey with me.
